Goodbye for now, Jaxon

by Sparky

Jaxon is, or was, a beautiful black hooded male fancy rat. He has been getting old, yet he stayed energetic and happy. Always nuzzling me, cuddling on my lap…I had him for 3 and 1/2 years. He was so sweet, yet so daring…so much like me. Never before have I connected to an animal such like Jaxon. We were so close…we trusted each other. I’m just a 14 year old girl, who lost her dearest friend 20 minutes ago…in search of comfort. I wonder now how I can live on. I’m not being dramatic; I’m going to miss him. Others think of rats as disease riddled rodents, but Jaxon…he was my companion and best friend. I will miss him so dearly. I have and will continue to shed tears over him…
